My Pentateuch

Today I have the good fortune of being published by the excellent online journal and blog of the Caribbean author and blogger Geoffrey Philp.

Every writer has a personal canon of ‘sacred books’ – books of influence. A personal pentateuch, no less. I have written about mine for Geoffrey’s blog. They are: Wide Sargasso Sea, Jean Rhys, The Grapes of Wrath, John Steinbeck, The Plague, by Albert Camus, Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley and Beloved, by Toni Morrison.

For more about my feelings re these books and why they are important to me, please go to Geoffrey Philps excellet site.

Meanwhile, Pynter Bender,  by Greneda born author Jacob Ross is my latest reading material  – enthralling.  A true true Caribbean novel. The Caribbean Review of  Books chose it as one of their books the year. It’s not hard to see why.
